Mars Movie Reviews – Frankenweenie

Movie Info: From creative genius Tim Burton comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life-with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous. A stop-motion animated film, Frankenweenie will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience. — (C) Disney

Mars Review: Uncluttered by the simplicity of the format, the attention to detail is extraordinary with concentration on the storytelling and its characters.  Rammed with credible horror references, this is a great movie for children to see if you want to them to develop a good perspective of film history in years to come (a bit scary for children at times).  I walked away feeling as though I had watch an Alfred Hitchcock black and white film.  Frankenweenie is Burton harnessing the lightning of his early career.  Frankenweenie is purely marvelous!
